For the past few months I have been endorsing a proposal for "Itechnology" for our school. It started with a request for class Ipods, but was reworked due to wireless access issues. Our latest request to the board is for a m0bile lab of 9 Ipad2's. My optimism for these devices is not only for how they can improve the way content is delivered, but for how they can enable and transform student thinking. How do you think Ipads can help to support learning? How can this technology help to connect our classrooms? What links or sites would you suggest to assist in the Ipad implementation? Let me know your thoughts...
With the Japanese earthquake and resulting tsunami, my family's focus and concern were immediately with the people of this island country. What brought this tragedy closer to home was the fact my sister-in-law was visiting Japan on business. Technology, skype in particular, allowed us to have chat across the ocean, where a shaken, but uninjured family member could reassure us in her own voice that things were ok. It really showed the power technology has in linking us in meaningful ways. In this moment of concern, it struck me, how important it is my students "connect" to their world.

I investigated with kyle into the ipad 2 and got some good learning info. The Ipad 2 can create awsome presentations with good animation and effects and has a powerful word processor and has tables, charts and spreadsheets like that. Also you can directly print documents or notes by pressing the Airprint button. Heres a link for much more info Mr.C

It would be fun to have some Ipads for working on projecs and just having making subjects better and more interactive but about the groups is we'd have to try and get people whowork well together and actually get along and make sure everyone gets a turn using them so no one is left out but it would be pretty cool.

I did a little surfing the net on the Ipad, and I have to say, it would certainly take education a step further in the real world. You can make documents, track your work, and also study. You could also share assignemts and answers with facetime. Me and Liam really think that it would a big, positive effect, on out learning experience. It has a built in wifi, so there no need for an internet connection struggle, and with one tap of a button, you can print right from the Ipad. You can write stuff on the Ipad, right from your fingertips. Yoir Idea has definatly made me think about how much easier, and how cool it would be to have something like an Ipad to work on.

The Ipad 2, has many educational features. The facetime option would make it easy to share answers and problems with the class, and connect in many ways. It is definatly a great Idea, and

This is really all the proof we need, technology helps us with all of the things in the video below. if we can do that with a video camera and some computer effects imagine what we could do with 9 i-pads in the class

Imagine if a class was so interested in the work they were doing, that each student listened to every word that came out of the teacher's mouth. What if a student could look up current events with the click of a button? What if a student was too embaressed to ask a question, so they sent it to the teacher instantly?

I found this blog which makes a great case for Ipad 2's over the older Ipad.
